Before we were ever married, or even knew each other, we both individually had the impression that adoption would be a part of God’s plan for us someday. Fast forward a decade when our daughter was born very prematurely, at 2 pounds 11 ounces, due to preeclampsia, and we are so thankful for the immense mercy of God that both Amy and Jubilee are alive and healthy. We know that it is time to grow our family, and we feel that God has both spoken and invited us into the path of pursuing adoption.
Our lives are centered around the fact that we have “received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’” We were absolutely powerless to bring ourselves out of our spiritual death, but God, in His great love, chose us to be His children. We had literally done NOTHING to deserve His favor and love, but He chose us, and He went to unimaginable expense to bring us into His family, and He freely lavishes His delight over us. As we have explored various options, we are excited to domestically adopt an infant, and to pour out our love as God has poured His love into us. Our home study is complete, and we are now waiting for the right situation to come to us.
