In November 2021 we started the journey of adding to our family through adoption. Our daughter, Jubilee, was 2.5 years old at the time. As we prayed, we felt God leading us to adopt. Also, because of all the medical complications we had with our first pregnancy, it also felt wise to pursue adoption as plan A for adding the next child to our family. We were also eager to provide a family for a baby who otherwise wouldn’t have a secure, loving, and safe home. We believe the Gospel is the heart of adoption, and are excited to live out a picture of Gospel through our adoption.
The journey ended up being much longer than we anticipated. We were active with multiple agencies in various states in the US, and we presented to dozens and dozens of birth moms. We can’t express how challenging the last 3 years has been for all of us to hold onto hope through the ups and downs. Jubilee has been praying for a brother and sister every night for years, and more recently she has been asking God why He hasn’t given her one yet.
So many people have been supporting, encouraging, and praying for us through this time and we are incredibly grateful! Finally, on November 6th we presented to a birth mom for a baby girl who was just born on the 5th in Utah. We honestly didn’t think she would pick us, but, like always, we prayed for God’s will to be done and for the right family to be selected for this little girl. We were shocked and overjoyed when we got the call that night from the agency that we were the chosen family, and that we needed to get to Utah as soon as possible.
We named our precious baby Juniper Hope; “Juniper” symbolizing healing, strength, resilience, cleansing & purification and “Hope” because she was the fulfilment of our long-held hope that God would bless us with another child. She will have to be in the hospital for several weeks before she is healthy enough to come home with us, but we will give her all the healing love, snuggles, and prayers to aid her in that process. We adore our beautiful little Juniper and feel so privileged to be her parents! Thank you so much for helping bring this miracle of adoption to our family!
