We’re Drew and Courtney McLean, and we’re adopting a baby girl, due December 16th!
Our burden for open-adoption grew out of my (Courtney’s) story. Being adopted from birth gave us both the desire to grow our family through adoption. Being foster parents for a season further grew our hearts for adoption as well! A few months after the birth of our daughter Madelyn, God very clearly began to lead us down this path. The timing surprised us at first, but soon felt just right, as we desire to raise our children close together in age!
Every time we recall my story – one of brokenness, family, reunion and redemption – we are further burdened to adopt. We’ve first-hand witnessed the way open adoption can be experienced in such a healthy + healing way when all members of the triad are cared for and supported, and long to be apart of it as adoptive parents ourselves! We are so eager to watch God grow our family through adoption, as He gives us the gift of caring for this expectant mother and her child. It is our heart’s belief that God has specifically chosen this momma + her girl for us to pray and prepare to love uniquely for a lifetime, and we can’t wait to meet them in December!

Adoption Choice Homestudy: ~ $3,400 (Includes required social worker interviews, 26 education hours, background checks, etc)
Agency Fees, Legal Fees & Expectant Parent Expenses: $32,850 ($18,090 due by Oct 20th, $14,760 due by Nov 1)
Travel Expenses: ~$3,000 (When picking up our baby = Purchasing last minute airfare, AirBnB stay for ~10 days as we wait for legal clearance to leave the state, Transportation/Food)
