There are many scriptural references to adoption, most clearly outlined in the New Testament pertaining to our spiritual adoption into the family of God through salvation in Jesus Christ. We all originally find ourselves in our sin, powerless in a dark trajectory to eternal separation from God – and yet miraculously and graciously plucked out of our demise by our loving God through the sacrifice of his Son (Gal. 4:5-7). This is something we are utterly powerless to do but are freely given by our Heavenly Father through Jesus (John 1:12, Gal. 3:26, Eph. 1:5). Our drive to adopt children, then, comes from a desire to live out the good news of the Gospel in a very tangible way – to use the resources, blessings, and community around us to try to pluck children out of a very commonly impossible life station.
We’ve been fortunate to have witnessed some of our own immediate family go through the adoption process within the last few years, and it seems right to us to follow closely in their footsteps with regard to the process and agencies as they had good support and guidance. We will be working with Christian Adoption Consultants seeking to adopt two babies/toddlers from within the US.
It is with great excitement and hope that we are embarking on this journey, and along the way we know that our family and friends will be a big part of the endurance needed to see this through. Continuous prayers and encouragement will be the foundation of the support we need! There is also a substantial financial burden that comes with this mission, and we humbly ask you to pray about and discern whether the Lord is leading you to help us in this way.
