We are so tremendously excited and blessed to finally journey down this road towards adoption. Dusty and I have never heard God’s voice or felt His presence more clearly than in January of 2019 when He strongly placed the need for adoption on both of our hearts, to “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. (Psalm 82:3)” While the startup process has taken much longer than we originally envisioned, the Lord has been using this time to grow us and widen the boundaries of our hearts. After lots of prayer and research into the various avenues of adoption programs (foster care, domestic, or international) we have decided to pursue international adoption from India.
Phillipians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” We have been praying over this adoption from the beginning, and God has led us every step of the way thus far; I know He will continue to lead us. Despite the extravagant costs for international adoption, we believe that this is God’s calling in our lives, and as a result, we know that He will provide a way. We ask for prayers moving forward, that God would lead us to the little girl He has chosen for our family, that no decision would be made apart from Him, and that He would continue to direct us every step of the way.
