First, thank you for taking the time to read our story and learn more about our adoption journey. Your willingness to step into this chapter with us means the world to our family, and we are so grateful for your kindness and support.
We are Will and Kelsey DeRaad. We have been incredibly blessed with two biological sons- Bennett (6) and Carson (4), and for a long time we truly believed our family was complete. However, the Lord gently began stirring our hearts and making it clear that He had other plans for our family. Through prayer and discernment, He made adoption clear to us, and we felt deeply called to step forward in obedience.
Scripture reminds us of God’s heart for the vulnerable and the fatherless. James 1:27 calls us to care for orphans, and Proverbs 31:8–9 urges us to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. We are continually humbled by the truth that God first adopted us into His own family through His love and grace (Ephesians 1:5). It is from this place of love, gratitude, and faith that we pursue adoption.
Though we have not yet met our child, our hearts are already full of love and anticipation. We are currently active in the adoption process and prayerfully awaiting the joyful day when we are matched with the child God has chosen for our family. We are so excited for the life, love, and future that lies ahead—and for the privilege of welcoming a child into our home.
Adoption is a beautiful calling, but it also carries a significant financial burden. We humbly invite you to prayerfully consider joining us on this journey.
