Name: Chidichimo Family Adoption

Within the first month of Alex and I dating back in 2011, foster care and adoption were topics of conversation. Caring for children was something on both of our hearts from the beginning, and a large part of what brought us together. We struggled with infertility for a few years, then decided to enter the world of caring for kids within the foster care system. We then decided the next step was infant adoption.

We adopted Lucca at birth in April of 2020. We have an open adoption with his birth mom and sister and visit each other yearly. Our nephew moved in with us when he graduated high school in 2021 and is attending college, working at Chick-Fil-A, and involved in the young adults group at our church. Our niece moved in with us in May 2022 and is in high school. She enjoys volleyball, softball, working at Chick-Fil-A, and is involved in the youth group at our church. We also have a 7 year old goldendoodle named Louie, renamed Louie Pooey Schmooey by my Kindergarten class of 2017. He enjoys begging for our food and chasing squirrels on the fence in our big backyard.

We are now moving forward with a second infant domestic adoption. We have a goal to raise $45,000 by the end of May! We raised every penny with Lucca’s adoption and we know we can do the same this time! This time the process is a little different, because every dollar is due when we match with birth momma. (Last time, we were able to pay a portion at match, and another portion when Lucca was already home with us.) Because of this, we’ll work hard to raise all the funds prior to having our profile book presented to birth families.

We know each story is unique, and are hopeful for open adoption to allow our adopted babe the opportunity to know about and/or personally know his/her birth parents. We know this may not be the case this time around, but rest and trust knowing that God already sees and knows.

Thank you all for joining us on this journey. A double thank you to those who walked with us for our first adoption and are back for this second round!! Your kind words, encouraging prayers and financial contributions are some of the most vital parts are of this process. We could not do this without YOU!

Thank you so much,
Alex, Mandy, Lucca, Jalen, Kaidyn, and Louie Pooey Schmooey

Using the online form on this page automatically submits a request to preference your gift to the family profiled on this page as part of ABBA Fund’s Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund. ABBA Fund administers this fund and maintains full control and administration of all donated funds.
