I love God and believe that all things are possible with Him. I am an active member of my church, a nondenominational church in Redding, where I serve in the outreach ministry. The church’s main message is about lives being changed through love, hope, and gratitude in Jesus Christ.
Years ago, I prayed and asked God to dream for me. And He did. He began a process in my heart to pursue the miracle of adoption and invited me into this sacred encounter with Him, where I would be an answer to prayers. Now, I am a co-laborer with mothers wanting the best outcome for their children.
My deepest prayer is to bring an infant home and provide a permanent, safe, and loving environment where they can grow and experience the heart of God throughout their lifetime. One of my favorite scriptures describes adoption and caring for others. In James 1:27, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
I said yes to adoption long before I knew the cost. However, when I found out the cost, I asked myself, “How will you pay for this?” Yet, deep down, I knew that God would help me express His heart in this world. So, I took a leap of faith and signed on with the Christian Adoption Consultant Agency, using my savings and retirement funds to help with the initial application and home study fees.
I do not have any children and would like to build my family through adoption. For this, I ask for your help. I have prayed to God about how to proceed with financial wisdom, and I see fundraisers such as this one as a way He may choose to allow others to partner with me on this journey of faith.
I hope my life story of perseverance and triumphant pursuit of following God’s call to adopt will encourage you to join me in this journey. And, please pray with me for birth moms and their families. May God continue to give them the grace to choose life.
