Hello! We’re the Rays!
We were married on March 13th, 2020. We have always had the desire to be parents, and in the fall of 2022, we began our journey to grow our family. Little did we know that, we were on a path filled with unexpected twists and turns. Sadly, we suffered two miscarriages. After our second loss, our doctor discovered that it would be far more difficult to carry a child to term than we realized. After this, Luke 22:42 became words we leaned on daily. “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Our suffering drew us closer to each other and to God, especially knowing that we were sharing in Christ’s sufferings for His glory. During this time, we leaned on Jesus and allowed Him to heal our hearts. This was a season filled with disappointment, grieving, and sacred sorrow. But God picked up the pieces and taught us that He alone is the source of our joy.

When we surrendered to His will, we both felt God calling us to something that hadn’t been on our radar at that point: He was calling us to adopt! Every child belongs to the Lord, and He revealed to us that He had chosen a child for us to grow our family. We were led to take an adoption class at our church. We immediately felt immense peace at hearing “Infertility is God’s provision for a child that needs a loving home.” And despite the challenges we faced, we now know that He has been guiding us to our child. Just like we were adopted into God’s family when we accepted Christ as our Savior, we are hoping to do the same with the child He has chosen for us. We cannot wait to share the love of Christ with our baby. Ephesians 1:4-5 reminds us “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.” God knew our names and chose us before the foundations of the earth were laid, and that same knowledge holds true for our child-He also knows the name of our child and will bring him or her to us in His timing. We are excited and honored that God has chosen us to parent this child.

We invite you to prayerfully consider joining us on this journey! Below are a few ways that you can support us:

  • Praying with us: We know that our battles are fought through prayer, and we ask that you battle on our behalf in praying for the health, safety, and protection of both our child and the birth mom. Pray that we might have peace in the waiting, that we stay as close as ever to Jesus, and that our eyes never waver from his sight.
  • Check in with us: Please check in with us! Ask us how we are doing in the waiting since it will likely be hard and emotionally exhausting. We will appreciate it when people call us and pray with us in the waiting, as it will lift our spirits and encourage our soul.
  • Financially: Whether you feel led to contribute financially, we know the Lord will multiply big or small any gift you feel led to contribute that will help us to bring our child into our family.

We are excited to see what God has in store for us, and we are grateful for the blessings of you, our family and friends, who will walk alongside us on this exciting and fulfilling journey.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
