Name: Foulks Family FundGender: female

Hello, We are Gary and Christie Foulks. We have been married for 3 years. Gary and I have 2 sons. Greyson who is 20 and Brian who is 18. We always knew we wanted to add to our family through adoption. The word of God states in John 14:18 I will not leave you as an orphan I will come to you. Gary and I felt the call to adopt and that God was leading us to adopt internationally, after a lot of prayer and research we chose to adopt from Kyrgyzstan, Asia.

We have known from the beginning of our adoption journey that God was leading us to adopt a child with extra needs. God has always put a special place in both of our hearts for children who are facing extra needs physically, mentally, or medically. We are adopting a waiting child, Nora who is three years old. She was born with Down Syndrome and an Atrial Septal Defect. We have also been told to be prepared for Nora to have other global delays due to being institutionalized. She also has some other mild medical issues that will also need to be addressed when we get her home. We traveled back in June to do a 10 day bonding trip with Nora, It was amazing. From the moment we saw her we knew she was our daughter, the one God had hand picked just for us. We had to leave and travel back to the US to start preparation for the next trip to the country which would be our court hearing and an extended stay in the country before bringing our daughter home. Let me tell you leaving our daughter almost 8,000 miles away was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do.

We are in the last stages of our adoption. We are waiting on USCIS to approve us to travel to Kyrgyzstan for our court appointment and for our extended stay in the country to bring our daughter home forever. We are excited to finally be at this step in our adoption. It’s so hard to believe our daughter could be home in the next couple months. God is so good. God is so faithful. God is a waymaker.

When we started our adoption process we knew adoption definitely had a financial barrier that we would need to break through. We knew God led us and he would provide what was needed in the time it was needed but that he also expected us to work hard and do our part as well. You can have faith in God to do something for you but you have to be willing to move and do your part in his miracle working ways. We have paid for our adoption through our own funds and savings, fundraisers, grants, and individual donations. We are still lacking $15,500 to pay in fees before we can go on our last trip to bring our daughter home forever.

So friends and family or whoever may be reading our story we ask for you to consider prayerfully joining us through prayer & encouragement and by making a generous contribution to alleviate the financial burden of adopting and transforming Nora from being an orphan to being our daughter.

We want to thank ABBA Fund from the bottom of our hearts for all the prayers, help, encouragement and access to these funding opportunities to help us bring our daughter home.

Thanks,
Gary and Christie Foulks
