Hello! We are Tara and Daniel. Our adoption journey started long before we were married. I,Tara, have known I’ve wanted to adopt since I was around ten years old. At a missions conference at church, and met with a family who adopted a little girl from China. Their story was my first exposure to adoption, and it changed my life. I knew adoption would be one way I would have a family in the future. Daniel saw several of his family members adopt growing up. He always felt like he would one day do the same. Daniel and I talked about adoption on our first date. We pretty much decided adoption would be part of our story.

Daniel and I have now walked the road of infertility for the past two years. We tried a few medical options before realizing the Lord was leading us to begin the adoption process last September. We went to the beach to refresh and think and ended up having our first conversation with Faithful Adoption Consultants. We started the paperwork process in October and were “paper ready” in March 2021. We were, to our surprise, matched with an incredible birth mom one month later. The baby was to be due in August. We honestly could not believe we were going to be parents and were genuinely ecstatic. We got the call at the end of June telling us the baby was born eight weeks early. As shocking as that was, we were ready. The next day our agency informed us that the birth mom chose to parent. I don’t think I will ever be able to describe the heartbreak we felt and continue to feel. We loved that birth mom and baby so much. It was a bittersweet phone call. The months to follow were and still are tough. We are trusting in God’s plan for our lives. I think we have been continually reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6 during this process, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” It has challenged us to fully come to the Lord with opened hands and surrender to Him. It is not easy, but we are being refined daily. We know the Lord has led us to walk the adoption road and are faithfully continuing this process.

We continue to hope and pray for the child God will place in our lives through adoption. Thank you so much for joining us on this journey. We hope you would partner with us through prayer and encouragement as we continue to seek God’s plan to build our family through adoption. One other way that you could join us would be by graciously contributing financially to our adoption process. We are sure that the vast cost of adoption comes as no surprise to you and want you to know that we would be so grateful for any contribution. Our hope is that our adoption story would be one of faith, love, and transformation that leads other couples to walk along the same journey.

Using the online form on this page automatically submits a request to preference your gift to the family profiled on this page as part of ABBA Fund’s Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund. ABBA Fund administers this fund and maintains full control and administration of all donated funds. The IRS allows donors to state a preference of how their contribution is used and request that the gift support a particular family — and it allows the charitable organization (ABBA Fund) to fully consider that request as long as the donor understands and acknowledges for charitably given tax-deductible gifts that the ultimate authority regarding the disposition of your gift is at the discretion of the charitable organization. By using this online form, or other method described above, you are acknowledging an understanding of those IRS guidelines.
